June Beetle
Phyllophaga species
The whitish larvae of June beetles are a pest because they eat the roots of grasses, corn, potatoes, soybeans and strawberries. The dark brown adults aren’t a problem because they usually feed on woody plants.
Control the larvae with milky spore disease or predatory nematodes. Also encourage predatory insects.
