Early ripening, low acid bright red
"For a low acid tomato, Jet Star is the one! This big yeilder is a remarkable producer of large, globe-shaped, very good tasting fruit. Tomatos are bright red, inside and out. This early indeterminate has vigorously growing vines that produce tomatoes with little or no cracks or scars. Add lemon juice if you wish to can this tomato." Smart Gardener does not currently have a vendor for this tomato.

Sclerotium rolfsii
This fungus can also cause a form of crown rot and white mold. It was once considered a disease of warmer areas, but is now found as far north as Minnesota. It can affect a wide range of plant species, with Potato and Okra being most affected. Symptoms include yellowing, wilting and dying of leaves and visible fungus on soil and plant. The best control is good sanitation.
