Radish : April Cross Hybrid Radish
Daikon style
60 days. April Cross is the Daikon radish you want for big harvests of incomparably flavorful roots--these carrot-shaped winter radishes are crisp, mild, and subtly sweet! Maturing in just 2 months to an whopping 8 inches long and at least 3 inches in diameter, a single fruit is a meal! Try them steamed with onions or cheese, or in Asian cuisine. The fruit has smooth white flesh that keeps its color and texture over long-term storage. Daikon, or Asian radishes, are root crops harvested in fall. Much longer-lasting than spring radishes, they can easily be stored over winter. If they are planted too early, they may flower instead of developing their vegetable root--they need colder weather and shorter days. Easy to grow--just direct-sow, thinning the seedlings to 1 to 2 inches apart as soon as they emerge. Pkt is 1/16-oz, or 75 seeds.
