- Part shade (Warm, Hot)
Grows best in full sun, although it will tolerate part shade.
- Water
- Moderate
Stevia does not like to dry out, but also dislikes standing water which encourages rot and disease.
- Feeder
- Moderate
Stevia needs a good feed of phosphorus and potassium, and does not benefit from a high-nitrogen fertilizer (it grows quickly, but the flavor isn't as strong).
- Suitability
- High heat, Partial shade, Needs summer shade
- Small Gardens?
- Yes
- Containers?
- Yes
Stevia grows best in zones 9 and 10. If you live elsewhere, growing Stevia in a container may be the only practical way to grow it.
Grow one plant in a 14" container placed in an area that gets at least 8 hours of sunlight in the day. Keep soil moist, but do not over-water. Bring container inside for cold nights or in the winter.
