Southern Blight

Sclerotium rolfsii

This fungus can also cause a form of crown rot and white mold. It was once considered a disease of warmer areas, but is now found as far north as Minnesota. It can affect a wide range of plant species, with Potato and Okra being most affected. Symptoms include yellowing, wilting and dying of leaves and visible fungus on soil and plant. The best control is good sanitation.
